VIDEO: Crews implode Shuttered Baltimore power plant

BALTIMORE (WBFF) — A covered power station in Baltimore was set for collapse Friday morning, police said.

Police told WBFF the C.P. Crane Power Station in Bowleys Quarters would be collapsed at 8 a.m. Friday assuming the rainclouds blow over. Officials started getting the site beginning at 6:30 a.m.

The coal plant opened in 1961 and shut in 2018 under a concurrence with the Maryland Department of the Environment. Forsite Development Inc., the organization that possesses the site, brought down the plant's smokestacks recently. That destruction was not promoted for public review due to somewhere safe worries.

Forsite Development Inc. has said in the past it might want to redevelop the site as an environmentally friendly power office.
